Thank You to
Everyone Who Made the 3rd Annual Gray Cup Invitational Golf
Classic a Success!

The Land Conservancy
of New Jersey hosted its 3rd Annual Gray Cup Invitational Golf
Classic on September 20 at Ballyowen Golf Club at Crystal
Springs Resort in Hamburg. This year’s event held special
significance for The Conservancy marking its 30th anniversary
since its founding.
The
event drew 90 golf participants who all had a shot at winning
hole-in-one prizes including the new Lexus hybrid sponsored by
Prestige Lexus of Ramsey, or a $30,000 cash prize. Although no
one scored a hole-in-one, the challenging day of golf resulted
in Greg Moran (pictured left along with Gray Rogers
and Conservancy Chairman of the Board Rory Corrigan) winning
the coveted Gray Cup with a low gross score of 73.
121 guests were in
attendance for the evening’s cocktail reception, dinner and
program. Raffle sales, with the assistance of NJ NETS dancers,
and auctions with the help of Villanova’s Whitey Rigsby produced
lucky winners of exciting items and opportunities including
$1,000 gift certificate to Fran Lippy Jewelers of Livingston,
African Safari packages, sporting event tickets, and
opportunities to golf at some of the country’s most prestigious
golf clubs including California’s Riviera Club. One sports fan
was the winning bidder of an opportunity to attend a NETS game
along with two guests accompanied by retired NJ Nets player,
Kerry Kittles, now a valued Trustee of the Conservancy.
Sponsors of this year’s event included Gray and Mollie Rogers,
Debi and Rory Corrigan, Gene Mulvihill and Crystal Springs
Resorts, McCarter & English, The Hampshire Companies, Richard
Levine and Neuberger Berman, W.P. Stewart & Co., Prestige Lexus
of Ramsey, Sherri and Norman Albrecht and Stacy and Robert
Golding all of whom helped make the 3rd Annual Gray Cup a
resounding success.
The Gray Cup was first instituted in 2009 to honor immediate
past Chairman of the Board, C. Graydon Rogers for his
outstanding dedication to land preservation in New Jersey and
for his extraordinary leadership. The Gray Cup has become an
annual event to help fund The Land Conservancy of New Jersey’s
Land Preservation, Stewardship and Education Programs.
