Roberta
Dyrsten
Vice President of Operations at the Conservancy,
Roberta joined the staff in 1997. She is responsible for
all aspects of the Conservancy’s fundraising efforts
including membership, donor and corporate relations,
grant writing, special events, communications, and
public relations. She also oversees the day to day
operation of the office and Conservancy technology and
equipment needs. Roberta works closely with the members
of the Conservancy’s Board of Trustees who serve on the
Development and Nominating Committees. During the past
nine years the Conservancy’s membership has grown from
450 to more than 1500 members. The organization
completed a successful $3 million comprehensive campaign
in 2004.
Roberta has more than 25 years of experience working
with non-profit organizations. She worked for six years
as a consultant to the Kettering Foundation – a research
foundation that promotes citizen participation in the
democratic process. She coauthored a discussion guide
and traveled throughout the country. moderating public
forums on women’s issues for the foundation. She spent
15 years on the national board of directors of the
General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), chairing the
organization’s Community Improvement Program and serving
as membership coordinator. She has also served on the
New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs (NJSFWC) Board of
Directors since 1988. A member of the National
Association of Parliamentarians, Roberta currently acts
as Parliamentary Consultant to the Board of the NJSFWC.
Roberta has a BA degree in English with a minor in
Secondary Education and has completed a post graduate
certification program in Computer Software Applications.
