Municipal
Program: Partners for Greener Communities
Testimoninals
“In 2005 Peapack
Gladstone acquired 32 acres of Open Space, known as the
Komline acquisition. This property was identified as one
of only 3 ideal sites for much needed recreation space in
our community, which could have otherwise resulted in a
development in excess of 50 new homes. The Morris Land
Conservancy generously provided a $ 500,000 grant,
supplying critical funds needed to acquire this valuable
property. In addition, the MLC was instrumental in
providing expert advice throughout the process from
negotiation through final acquisition.”
Susan Wagner, Chair, Peapack & Gladstone
Open Space Committee
“I have had the pleasure
of working with MLC at both the municipal and county level over the past several
years. MLC has been especially effective in getting our
town and county open space plans
produced. They continuously assist us with ongoing
opportunities
for preservation.
Byram Township is proud of its
leadership role in open space preservation and
MLC rightly deserves to
share in the credit for that leadership.”
Raymond Bonker, Chair,
Byram Open Space Committee
"Once again, Morris Land Conservancy came
though for us. Negotiations were very involved and many
hours of their time were invested in the deal. They
stayed on top of all the details of the closing. Morris
Land Conservancy has continued to represent Mount Olive in
a very collaborative and professional manner. They think
Out-of-the-Box."
Kathy Murphy, Grant Coordinator, Mount
Olive Township
“(Pequannock) is delighted to have been
able to purchase the Pompton Plains Railroad Station that
will become the Pequannock Township History Museum at the
Pompton Plains Station through the technical help of the
Morris Land Conservancy that made for a successful grant
application to the Morris County Historic Preservation
Trust Fund Advisory Board. This represents for Pequannock
the first time in its 265 years history that the township
will have a place to showcase the rich history of the
Township of Pequannock."
