About the event

Let's enjoy the gorgeous fall foliage on this easy hike through our South Branch Preserve, which contains the headwaters of the South Branch of the Raritan River. Learn about the native plants, birds, and other flora and fauna. Afterwards we'll cool off with a beer (or hard seltzer, or craft soda) at nearby Man Skirt Brewing. The hike is FREE; your only expense will be any Man Skirt purchases.

Park at 60 Wolfe Road in Budd Lake. The lot is right near the intersection of Wolfe Road and Route 46, and the sign is small so you'll have to look carefully.

We are deeply humbled to occupy the land of the native Munsee Lenape.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey acknowledges Indigenous Peoples as the traditional stewards of the land, and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories. The land on which our headquarters sit is the traditional unceded territory of the Munsee Lenape Nation. We also work to preserve land in the traditional territories of the Lenape Haki-nk (Lenni-Lenape) and the Ramapough Lenape Nation.
