About the event

Step into the role of a forest guardian for a hands-on morning of habitat restoration. We’ll be joining forces with Dr. Linda Rohleder, founder of the Wild Woods Restoration Project, for a "seek and destroy" mission against the non-native species currently encroaching on the New Jersey Highlands. This interactive workshop at the Nancy Conger West Brook Preserve is designed to help you learn how to identify aggressive invasives while working alongside our experts to clip and pull the plants threatening our local forest understory. It is a unique chance to get your hands dirty while gaining the practical skills to help native habitats thrive, whether on our preserves or in your own backyard.

We are deeply humbled to occupy the land of the native Munsee Lenape.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey acknowledges Indigenous Peoples as the traditional stewards of the land, and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories. The land on which our headquarters sit is the traditional unceded territory of the Munsee Lenape Nation. We also work to preserve land in the traditional territories of the Lenape Haki-nk (Lenni-Lenape) and the Ramapough Lenape Nation.
