About the event

Join us on 6/3 for a hike through our Yards Creek Preserve in Blairstown, where Joe Fisher of nearby Man Skirt Brewing will head up a search for spruce tips that will be used to make a batch of his tasty craft beer. Learn how native plants are used in brewing as we explore this forest along the Kittatinny Ridge. This hike is for educational purposes; foraging will be minimal and sustainable.

Then on 7/15, come back and taste the resulting spruce tip beer at Man Skirt in Hackettstown!

These events are free, including spruce tip beer samples. Other Man Skirt merchandise will be available for purchase on 7/15.

We are deeply humbled to occupy the land of the native Munsee Lenape.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey acknowledges Indigenous Peoples as the traditional stewards of the land, and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories. The land on which our headquarters sit is the traditional unceded territory of the Munsee Lenape Nation. We also work to preserve land in the traditional territories of the Lenape Haki-nk (Lenni-Lenape) and the Ramapough Lenape Nation.
