Weeding Onions at City Green Farm

Our partner City Green's farm at our South Branch Preserve needs a little TLC. 

City Green’s regenerative and organic practices rely on completely on hand weeding. Weeds compete with the onions for nutrients and water, so we need volunteers to help us care for the crops they helped plant. This year’s onion crop is being made possible by volunteers who helped plant, will weed, and will eventually harvest the onions with us! Will you help?

City Green is a nonprofit that offers NJ residents in urban areas access to bountiful fresh, organic produce, and organizes volunteer, work, and leadership opportunities for young people. For the past three years City Green has been farming 10 acres at our South Branch Preserve. This partnership supports both open space and the community, since the farm improves access to and affordability of local food  for low-income families in Morris County.
