Did you know that The Land Conservancy of New Jersey recently received the largest Green Acres award ever made to a nonprofit? Of the $5.7 million in Green Acres funding the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection distributed to nonprofits this year, 29% went to TLCNJ. We also helped six other New Jersey communities secure their own NJDEP grant funds, which you can read about in the new issue of our newsletter.

Want to know what makes limestone forests unique and important to NJ? They're tremendously valuable, containing some of the state’s most spectacular habitats and hosting many rare, threatened, and endangered plant and animal species. Find out how The Land Conservancy's recent limestone forest acquisitions fit into larger conservation strategies for the region.

You can also learn about our 2024 scholarship winners and their fascinating research, from rescuing injured birds and studying their ecosystems to gauging the impact of forest density on tick populations. Very cool stuff!

Peruse all this, plus some new pics from our recent Outdoor Ambassadors field trip with the Boys and Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic, and a profile of our new superstar trustee, Bob Ross.

We are deeply humbled to occupy the land of the native Munsee Lenape.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey acknowledges Indigenous Peoples as the traditional stewards of the land, and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories. The land on which our headquarters sit is the traditional unceded territory of the Munsee Lenape Nation. We also work to preserve land in the traditional territories of the Lenape Haki-nk (Lenni-Lenape) and the Ramapough Lenape Nation.
