The sun has set on the 2025 World Series of Birding, and the results are in! Team members Stephen Kloiber, Jon Mularczyk, and Mike and Corinne Schall started in Sussex County at midnight and worked their way south towards the Ocean City welcome center and Forsythe/Brigantine. Nighttime searching focused on marsh birds, owls, nightjars, and nocturnal flight calls.

Rare species observed include black-necked stilt, American golden plover, ruddy duck, red-breasted merganser, red-throated loon, and white-winged scoter. You can view all the results here at the Highland Hawks' official trip report.

Thanks to the Highland Hawks' dedication and the support of our community, we raised an unprecedented $45,000 to continue our work protecting the habitats and natural resources our winged friends (and ourselves!) need to survive and thrive.

We are deeply humbled to occupy the land of the native Munsee Lenape.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey acknowledges Indigenous Peoples as the traditional stewards of the land, and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories. The land on which our headquarters sit is the traditional unceded territory of the Munsee Lenape Nation. We also work to preserve land in the traditional territories of the Lenape Haki-nk (Lenni-Lenape) and the Ramapough Lenape Nation.
