Last week we hosted fourth graders from Philip’s Academy Charter School of Paterson for pollinator field trips at South Branch Preserve! The students went on a guided hike to visit the wildlife blind and conducted hands-on activities involving insects. Then they helped us plant pollinating flowers and even took home a newspaper planter to sprout their own flower seeds. After enjoying a pizza lunch, the students learned from the farmers at City Green Farm, and then they talked to some of our community garden members about what’s growing in their plots. We can’t wait to welcome these budding naturalists back!

We are deeply humbled to occupy the land of the native Munsee Lenape.

The Land Conservancy of New Jersey acknowledges Indigenous Peoples as the traditional stewards of the land, and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories. The land on which our headquarters sit is the traditional unceded territory of the Munsee Lenape Nation. We also work to preserve land in the traditional territories of the Lenape Haki-nk (Lenni-Lenape) and the Ramapough Lenape Nation.
